Morphling vs Pangolier

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst a full-health Morphling is often a futile effort for Pangolier. Even if Pangolier lands a perfect Swashbuckle, Morphling can usually react by using Attribute Shift to gain a huge amount of Strength, making him too tanky to kill before he can Waveform away. This forces Pangolier to commit his ultimate for a stun, but it's a big cooldown to trade for a hero who might survive anyway. On the other hand, Pangolier’s Lucky Shot can disarm Morphling at critical moments, severely cutting his damage output and making it hard for him to fight back effectively.

The matchup often comes down to timing and who gets caught out of position. Early on, Pangolier can bully a weaker Morphling out of lane. Later, if Pangolier finds Morphling farming alone, a Rolling Thunder initiation can lead to a kill. However, in a straight teamfight, it's much harder for Pangolier to isolate his target. Morphling can sit safely behind his team and, once Pangolier commits, turn the fight around by bursting down a squishier hero. Neither has a clear, consistent advantage over the other across the game.
