Morphling vs Slark

How this matchup plays

Getting Pounced by Slark is often a death sentence for Morphling. The leash prevents a Waveform escape, forcing a direct fight that Morphling can't win. Every attack from Slark steals Agility with Essence Shift, directly draining Morphling's damage and armor while making Slark stronger. Even if Morphling tries to commit with a stun, Slark can often purge it away with Dark Pact. This interaction leaves Morphling with very few options once he's caught, as his core stats are actively being siphoned away from him.

Throughout the game, this dynamic forces Morphling to play cautiously. Slark will actively hunt him, looking for an opening to start building stacks. Morphling’s main hope is to get a massive burst combo off before Slark can react with Shadow Dance, which requires a significant item lead and perfect timing. Slark, on the other hand, can afford to play aggressively, knowing that any extended fight swings heavily in his favor. He can use his ultimate to reset, heal up, and re-engage a now-weakened Morphling.
