Morphling vs Spirit Breaker

How this matchup plays

Getting targeted by Charge of Darkness leaves Morphling with few options. The vision prevents him from juking in trees, and even if he tries to escape with Waveform, Spirit Breaker's Nether Strike will follow him to his destination. This guarantees the lockdown, often preventing Morphling from using his attribute shift to gain health before he dies. The constant threat of a global, point-and-click initiation makes it extremely difficult for him to find solo farm or exist on the map without his team.

This dynamic shapes the entire game. Instead of split-pushing to accelerate his farm, Morphling is forced to play defensively, slowing his item progression significantly. In teamfights, Spirit Breaker can bypass frontliners to lock Morphling down before he can build up enough Agility to be a threat or shift into Strength to survive. The whole match becomes a struggle against being constantly targeted and controlled, delaying the point where Morphling can take over.
