Morphling vs Techies

How this matchup plays

Shifting to Strength to tank damage is Morphling's usual escape plan, but it completely fails against Techies. The long silence from Blast Off! prevents Attribute Shift entirely, often leaving Morphling stuck in a glass-cannon agility form with no way to survive a gank. Techies can initiate with this silence from fog, giving very little time to react. Even without the silence, Sticky Bomb forces Morphling into an awkward position, either tanking the damage over time or staying in a low-damage Strength form to survive it, making him useless in a fight.

Morphling’s need to farm isolated parts of the map plays directly into Techies’ hands. Proximity Mines turn common farming routes and jungle camps into death traps, making it extremely dangerous for Morphling to split push and slowing his progression significantly. To have any impact, Morphling is forced to rush a Black King Bar much earlier than he'd like, delaying his core damage items. Techies simply needs to keep the map dangerous and wait for an opportunity to use Blast Off!, completely shutting Morphling down before he gets a chance to fight back.
