Morphling vs Ursa

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst a Morphling down is what Ursa is built for. With Overpower and Fury Swipes, Ursa can apply a huge amount of damage very quickly. Morphling's survival depends entirely on his reaction time with Attribute Shift, gaining enough health to withstand the initial attack. It's a classic race: Ursa's damage output versus Morphling's ability to shift stats. If Morphling survives the jump, he can use Waveform to create distance and Adaptive Strike to kite. However, Ursa's own Enrage can make him difficult to control, turning the fight back in his favor.

This tension defines the whole game. Ursa looks for advantages with his early item timings and will actively hunt Morphling, hoping to snowball before Morphling comes online. Morphling's game becomes about anticipating these ganks, farming safely, and building items that let him survive the burst. If the game goes late, a farmed Morphling has a good chance to control and kill Ursa, but one good initiation from Ursa's team can end the game before that point. The winner is often decided by which hero's team better enables their plan.
