Morphling vs Vengeful Spirit

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst a target as Morphling often means shifting fully to agility, but Vengeful Spirit makes this a death sentence. Her Wave of Terror strips away the armor that high agility provides, leaving Morphling with a tiny health pool and no physical resistance. Any follow-up damage, even from Vengeful Spirit herself, can be lethal. A reliable stun from Magic Missile is usually enough to lock him down and finish the job before he can react and shift back to strength, completely neutralizing his main survival mechanic.

This pressure starts in the lane and never really lets up. Later, even a farmed Morphling can't safely split push or jump on a target because Nether Swap can pull him out of position and into the enemy team. He is forced to play much more reactively, waiting for Vengeful Spirit to use her spells on someone else. A good Vengeful Spirit player will often hold her swap specifically for him, controlling his positioning and forcing him to stay on the sidelines for much of the fight.
