Morphling vs Warlock

How this matchup plays

Trying to manage your attributes as Morphling gets tricky when a Warlock is on the other team. Fatal Bonds connecting to you means any damage your allies take also chunks your health, forcing you to shift into Strength earlier than you'd like. This lowers your damage output significantly. Warlock’s Shadow Word adds to this pressure with sustained damage that makes it risky to stay in a high-Agility form. These spells don't burst Morphling, but they consistently undermine his ability to be both a tank and a primary damage dealer throughout a fight.

The matchup often comes down to initiation. If Warlock lands Chaotic Offering, Morphling can be stunned and killed before he has a chance to react or shift attributes. The fight can be over before it starts for him. The advantage is only slight, though, because Morphling has his own win condition: find and eliminate Warlock first. Warlock has no escape mechanism and is an easy target for Morphling's burst damage. The game becomes a positioning battle of whether Morphling can get his pick-off before Warlock can apply his team-wide pressure.
