Muerta vs Wraith King

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can burst Wraith King down during Pierce the Veil is a common trap. Muerta might be immune to his physical attacks, but she can’t outlast his Reincarnation. Once her ultimate fades, she's a vulnerable target with her main defensive tool on a long cooldown. Wraith King often gets his second life back faster than she gets her ultimate again. He can wait out her ethereal form or even die once on purpose, knowing she has nothing left to deal with him when he stands back up. His skeletons also create chaos, soaking up her ricochets and body-blocking her escape.

Across the game, this dynamic puts Muerta on the back foot. Wraith King applies constant pressure by existing on the map and can force fights she isn't ready for. To have a chance, Muerta needs her team to perfectly manage his two lives, burning his mana or kiting him for a very long time after he resurrects. Meanwhile, the Wraith King player can focus her down with his stun, confident that a one-for-one trade heavily favors his own team's tempo since his downtime is so much shorter.
