Muerta vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Trying to close the distance on Sniper is a nightmare for Muerta. His massive attack range, combined with Headshot slows, makes it incredibly difficult for her to get close enough to use her spells effectively. Even if she activates her ultimate, Pierce the Veil, to become immune to his physical attacks, Sniper can often create enough space with Shrapnel or a Hurricane Pike to simply wait it out. While she can't be right-clicked during her ult, he can still target her with Assassinate, which deals magical damage.

Throughout the game, this dynamic forces Muerta to be the initiator, often requiring a Blink Dagger to have any hope of catching him. The pressure is on her to execute a perfect jump, as a failed attempt leaves her exposed and far from her team. Sniper, meanwhile, can comfortably sit in the backline, whittling her down before she ever gets a chance to commit. If Muerta can't find a way to get on top of Sniper and burst him down quickly, he will control the spacing of every teamfight and steadily wear her down from a safe distance.
