Muerta vs Storm Spirit

How this matchup plays

Thinking Muerta’s ultimate makes her safe from Storm Spirit is a common mistake. Pierce the Veil grants physical immunity, but she remains fully vulnerable to Storm's magic burst. This turns any duel into a raw damage race. Muerta needs to land her silence from The Calling and hope her empowered attacks are enough to kill Storm before he can react. Conversely, if Storm gets the jump and locks her down with Electric Vortex, he can often delete her before she can respond. It’s a fragile standoff where the first move is critical.

This tension plays out as a battle for initiation. Storm will constantly hunt for Muerta, trying to catch her out of position before she gets a Black King Bar. Her survival depends on playing near vision and teammates. Once Muerta does have a BKB, she can block his initial burst, pop her ultimate, and then try to run him down. Storm’s job then becomes baiting out that BKB, zipping away with Ball Lightning, and re-engaging when she’s vulnerable again. The fight is less about one hero being better and more about who has their key cooldowns ready.
