Muerta vs Templar Assassin

How this matchup plays

Getting jumped by a Templar Assassin is a nerve-wracking experience, but Muerta has a unique answer. Activating Pierce the Veil makes her immune to all of Templar Assassin's physical attacks, completely neutralizing the burst from a Meld strike. The matchup is far from one-sided, however. Templar Assassin's Refraction is perfectly capable of absorbing the incoming magic damage from Muerta's ethereal attacks, burning charges just as it would against any other damage. This creates a stalemate where each hero can temporarily ignore the other's primary offensive threat, turning a direct confrontation into a standoff.

The duel often comes down to timing and who has their key defensive ability ready. If Templar Assassin can initiate and eliminate Muerta before the ultimate is used, she has the advantage. Conversely, if Muerta forces a fight with her ultimate active, she can survive the initial burst. The fight then becomes a race for Muerta to burn through Refraction charges before Pierce the Veil expires or before Templar Assassin can simply walk away. Because both heroes have a way to negate the other, success often depends on catching the opponent off-guard or having better support from teammates to break the deadlock.
