Naga Siren vs Venomancer

How this matchup plays

Trying to zone a lane with Plague Wards runs into a serious problem against Naga Siren. Her illusions make short work of the wards, turning Venomancer's main spacing tool into a source of farm for her. Naga's entire playstyle revolves around creating copies that can split up and apply pressure, and they are not threatened by his slow, damage-over-time spells. The core of the issue is that Venomancer lacks the burst or lockdown to deal with a real Naga, and he doesn't have the waveclear to handle her illusions. Even his Venomous Gale can be dispelled by a simple cast of Mirror Image.

As the game develops, this problem only gets worse for Venomancer. Naga Siren begins to farm the entire map at a speed he can't match, and his wards become a liability wherever he places them. He can’t effectively defend towers against her constant split-pushing pressure. Should a major teamfight break out, Naga's Song of the Siren is the perfect answer to a big Poison Nova. She can put everyone to sleep, wait out the worst of the damage, and let her team re-engage on favorable terms, leaving Venomancer with his biggest spell completely wasted.
