Necrophos vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Getting chipped away by Heartstopper Aura from the fog is a constant pressure for a squishy hero. Necrophos excels at wearing down targets he can get close to, and his Ghost Shroud can make him temporarily immune to Sniper’s physical attacks. This forces Sniper to reposition or stop attacking entirely. However, Sniper’s entire design is built around maintaining distance. His extreme attack range and the slowing effect from Shrapnel are his primary tools for kiting and preventing Necrophos from ever getting into his effective zone in the first place.

The matchup often hinges on key item timings and who gets caught out of position. Early on, Sniper can freely harass and control the lane. Once Necrophos gets a mobility item, he can threaten to jump on Sniper and secure a kill with Reaper's Scythe. In response, a good Sniper will invest in items that create even more distance or provide an escape. Fights are less about a direct confrontation and more about a battle for positioning, making the outcome highly dependent on vision, team support, and which hero lands their spells first.
