Connecting Static Link to Shadow Fiend puts his physical damage on a timer, which can make man-fighting an uphill battle. This forces Shadow Fiend away from a pure right-click build and toward his magical burst potential. He can use Shadowraze to secure creeps and harass from outside the link's range, creating a lane that's less about direct confrontation and more about spacing and resource management. The core dynamic is a trade-off: Razor challenges SF’s physical damage, while SF threatens Razor with high magic damage that doesn't care about Static Link.

This tension defines how fights play out across the entire game. If Razor gets to walk at Shadow Fiend and maintain his link, he can cripple SF's contribution to a teamfight. A successful gank on Razor, however, often looks very different. Shadow Fiend initiating from the fog with a full-power Requiem of Souls can burst Razor down before the damage drain becomes a significant factor. Success for either hero depends heavily on who controls the engagement, making it a constant battle of positioning and initiation rather than a straightforward counter.
