Night Stalker vs Phantom Assassin

How this matchup plays

Fighting head-to-head often feels like a toss-up because their kits directly challenge each other. Phantom Assassin’s Blur naturally counters a hero who relies heavily on right-clicking to kill people. It can force Night Stalker to build specific items to deal with her, potentially delaying his own core progression. However, Night Stalker's Crippling Fear is a nightmare for PA. A long, unavoidable silence means she can't use Phantom Strike to get away or activate a BKB to fight, leaving her completely vulnerable to his initial burst and any follow-up from his team.

The lane and subsequent fights often come down to who gets the jump. During the first few nights, Night Stalker can hunt a weaker Phantom Assassin and shut her down with his silence. As the game goes on, PA looks for opportunities to initiate on him when his silence is on cooldown or used on an ally. If he can find her first and lock her down, his team can usually finish the job. If she gets on him from an angle or catches him alone, her crits can overwhelm his health pool before he can properly fight back.
