Night Stalker vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Jumping on Sniper at night seems like a guaranteed kill for Night Stalker. His high speed and long-duration silence from Crippling Fear look perfect for closing the gap and preventing an escape. The problem is that the silence only stops abilities, not items. A prepared Sniper can still use a Force Staff or Hurricane Pike to push Night Stalker away and kite him. While the silence prevents Sniper from using his own abilities to create space, the item escape is often all he needs to survive the initial burst and turn the fight around.

The result is a delicate game of vision and positioning. Night Stalker has a clear advantage when he can catch Sniper out of position or without key items. But a good Sniper will play defensively at night, staying near his team and using Shrapnel for vision and control. If Night Stalker's team can't provide follow-up lockdown, he can easily find himself overextended and focused down after his initial charge. It’s less about a direct counter and more about which hero executes their game plan with their team better.
