Night Stalker vs Templar Assassin

How this matchup plays

Getting jumped at night is a nightmare for Templar Assassin. Night Stalker's entire kit seems designed to ruin her day, with his silence being the main problem. A well-timed Crippling Fear prevents her from using Refraction to block incoming damage or Meld to turn invisible and escape. Without those defensive tools, she's incredibly fragile. Even if she gets Refraction off, his high attack speed and Void damage can burn through the charges quickly, leaving her exposed to follow-up attacks from him or his team. He's built to close gaps and lock down a single target, and she is an ideal one.

This dynamic dictates the pace of the mid-game. Night Stalker makes huge portions of the map unsafe for Templar Assassin to farm, forcing her to play much more defensively than she'd like. She has to rely on her team for vision and protection, or rush items that give her a way to survive the silence. He can make her whole game miserable by repeatedly hunting her down, delaying her key item timings and preventing her from snowballing. Her best bet is to use Psionic Traps defensively for early warning and hope her supports are nearby when he inevitably shows up.
