Hunting a lone hero down is Night Stalker's entire game plan. Venomancer is often that lone hero—slow, fragile, and with no real way to escape once caught. A well-timed silence from Night Stalker is often all it takes to prevent Venomancer from casting Poison Nova or other spells, turning him into an easy kill. This allows Night Stalker to shut down one of the enemy's key teamfight spells before the fight even begins, giving his own team a clear advantage in any subsequent engagement.

During the night, Night Stalker can make it very difficult for Venomancer to farm safely or place aggressive wards. Veno is forced to play defensively, relying on his team for protection and using his Plague Wards primarily for vision to avoid ganks.
