Nyx Assassin vs Templar Assassin

How this matchup plays

Burning away Templar Assassin's mana with a single spell defines this matchup. She relies on a small mana pool to keep Refraction active for farming and survival, and Nyx Assassin's Mana Burn completely shuts that down. If she does manage to get close, trying to land a Meld strike is a huge risk. Spiked Carapace reflects the damage and stuns her, turning her own burst into a trap. These tools allow Nyx to directly dismantle her core defensive and offensive abilities from the earliest stages of the game.

This dynamic forces the Templar Assassin to play defensively all game. Nyx Assassin's whole plan is to hunt with Vendetta, and TA is a prime target who can't easily fight back. She's pressured into buying a Black King Bar or other defensive items far earlier than she wants, slowing down her farm and ability to snowball. Nyx can scout her, initiate from stealth, and control her movements around the map, making it incredibly difficult for her to find safe farm and hit her item timings.
