Outworld Destroyer vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Picking one of these heroes into the other creates a lane that hinges on timing and cooldowns. Outworld Destroyer wants to apply pressure with Arcane Orb, but Windranger can use Windrun to completely evade those attacks and reposition. This forces OD to play around the ability's uptime. Conversely, a well-timed Astral Imprisonment is a perfect tool for Outworld Destroyer to dodge a lethal Shackleshot or a fully charged Powershot. The matchup becomes a constant dance where each player is trying to bait out the other's key defensive spell before committing to an attack.

Later on, the standoff continues. Windranger looks for pickoffs, trying to find a favorable angle for Shackleshot and Focus Fire to burst down a target like Outworld Destroyer. If he gets caught out, he is very fragile and dies fast. However, if OD is positioned safely behind his team, he can freely attack anyone Windranger stuns. His Sanity's Eclipse is also a significant threat to Windranger, who can be vulnerable to the burst if she lacks a BKB or defensive item. The game often comes down to which hero finds their ideal engagement first.
