Ogre Magi vs Troll Warlord

How this matchup plays

The constant slow from Ignite makes it incredibly difficult for Troll Warlord to build Fervor stacks and stay on his target. Ogre Magi can cast it from a safe distance and it lasts long enough to force Troll to either switch targets or back off entirely. This persistent kiting pressure directly undermines Troll's core game plan of running at a single hero, especially before he can secure a Black King Bar or an early dispel. The damage over time also softens Troll Warlord up, making him an easier target to finish off.

During the lane, this means Ogre can bully Troll and disrupt his farm. Later in teamfights, Ogre Magi acts as a bodyguard for his own cores, using his spells to peel and create distance from a charging Troll. The whole game for Troll Warlord becomes about finding the perfect moment to activate Battle Trance to power through the control. Until he gets his key items and finds that window, Ogre consistently makes his life difficult by preventing him from ever getting a clean, straightforward fight.
