Ogre Magi vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Trying to slip away with Windrun doesn't work out well against Ogre Magi. He has a simple point-and-click stun that lands instantly, ignoring the physical evasion and bonus movement speed. This means he can lock Windranger down for his team to kill whenever she tries to escape or reposition. Ogre can also reliably interrupt her Powershot from a safe distance, denying her farm and harass in lane. His whole game plan revolves around reliable lockdown, which is exactly what you need to shut down a hero who depends on being slippery.

This makes the early game very difficult for Windranger. She can’t effectively trade with or zone a hero as tanky as Ogre Magi, who can simply walk at her and force a bad trade. In teamfights, his role is often to find Windranger, stun her, and let his cores take her out before she can use her ultimate or escape. Her main option is to rush a Black King Bar to stop the initial lockdown, but this can severely delay the damage items she needs to be a threat.
