Omniknight vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Choosing Omniknight to counter a Sniper means you are playing for one big cooldown. While Guardian Angel provides complete immunity to Sniper's physical attacks and can swing a fight, Omniknight's other saves are less impactful here. The status resistance and dispel from Heavenly Grace don't offer much protection against a steady stream of right-clicks from extreme range. Sniper can often position himself so far back that Omniknight is unable to contribute much beyond waiting for the perfect moment to use his ultimate.

This tension defines mid-game fights. The Sniper's team will try to control the space with slows and vision, kiting and poking from a safe distance. This puts the burden on the Omniknight's team to find a clean initiation on top of Sniper, creating the opening for Omni's saves to matter. If that jump fails or if Guardian Angel is baited out early, the fight is often lost. Sniper has a small edge because he frequently gets to set the terms of the engagement before Omniknight can react.
