How this matchup plays

Dealing with Venomancer's damage over time comes down to a single spell. Omniknight's Heavenly Grace is a strong dispel that can instantly remove Venomous Gale or even Poison Nova, completely negating the kill threat on a priority target. This ability to cleanse the ultimate is a major problem for Venomancer. However, Veno's entire kit is designed to apply pressure to multiple heroes at once. While Omniknight can save one ally from the poison, he can't stop the rest of his team from melting away. This creates a core tension where the perfect single-target answer runs up against overwhelming area-of-effect damage.

The matchup becomes a game of cooldown management and positioning. Venomancer will try to bait out Heavenly Grace before committing his ultimate, or simply spread his damage so wide that the single dispel isn't enough to turn the tide. Omniknight's goal is to survive the initial onslaught and hold his save for the most critical moment on the most important core. The constant slows from Plague Wards and Poison Sting also make it hard for a melee hero like Omniknight to move around freely in a fight, forcing him to risk his own life to get spells off.
