Omniknight vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Dealing with a Windranger often comes down to a single button. The entirety of Focus Fire is physical damage, which means Omniknight’s Guardian Angel can completely negate her ultimate for his whole team. It can feel like a hard counter. However, Windranger has her own answers. A good Shackleshot can lock down Omniknight himself, preventing him from casting that crucial ultimate or using Heavenly Grace to dispel the stun from an ally. Windrun also gives her the mobility to disengage and wait out the ultimate if it’s cast too early.

The matchup becomes a game of cooldowns and positioning. Windranger's team wants to play for pickoffs, catching someone out of position to force the Guardian Angel before the real fight begins. If they can bait it and back off, they get a massive window to fight while it's down. The Omniknight team has to do the opposite: stay grouped, force a full five-on-five, and use the ultimate to turn a fight decisively. Which side wins often depends on who dictates the pace and controls vision to execute their plan first.
