Pangolier vs Razor

How this matchup plays

Connecting with Static Link makes it very difficult for Pangolier to execute his typical game plan. Pango relies on getting in with Swashbuckle, applying his procs, and using Shield Crash to survive. Razor's link drains away all that burst damage before it can become a threat. Since Swashbuckle has a fixed travel distance and Rolling Thunder has a turn rate, it’s not always simple for Pangolier to instantly break the tether, especially if Razor positions well. The longer the link holds, the more of a non-factor Pangolier becomes in a fight, unable to contribute damage or effectively disrupt.

This dynamic puts a lot of pressure on the Pangolier player from the laning stage onwards. He has to play more cautiously, often waiting for Razor to commit Static Link to another target before he can safely initiate. If caught, Pango needs his team to help stun Razor or use items to break the tether. A good Razor player anticipates this and can hold the spell specifically for Pangolier's engage. It creates a tense standoff where Pango can’t play his usual aggressive, disruptive role freely, giving Razor's team a small but consistent advantage in teamfights.
