Pangolier vs Storm Spirit

How this matchup plays

Trying to catch a Storm Spirit with Rolling Thunder often feels like a guessing game. Pangolier has all the tools to roll around a fight and be disruptive, but Storm's Ball Lightning is one of the best abilities for dodging that kind of initiation. If Storm Spirit can predict the roll, he zips away and the threat is gone. On the other hand, if Pangolier catches him without enough mana or by surprise, Storm gets chain-stunned and deleted. Swashbuckle provides Pangolier with good mobility to dodge Static Remnants, but it lacks the lockdown needed to reliably pin Storm down on its own.

This matchup comes down to which hero gets the better initiation. A Pangolier who completes a Eul's Scepter or Abyssal Blade can set up a guaranteed Rolling Thunder combo that Storm can't escape. Conversely, a Storm Spirit who finishes an Orchid Malevolence can find and silence Pangolier, preventing him from activating Shield Crash for defense or Rolling Thunder to escape. Both heroes want to play aggressively and jump on targets, but against each other, they often find their primary tools are directly countered. The player who executes their plan first usually wins the duel.
