Pangolier vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Trying to land a Shackleshot on Pangolier is often frustrating. His entire kit is built around movement, making him a slippery target to pin down. Swashbuckle gives him a quick dash to dodge the stun or break the latch angle, and Rolling Thunder lets him simply roll away from gank attempts. While Windranger can use Windrun to negate the physical damage from Swashbuckle, Pangolier can still stun her with Rolling Thunder even while she's evading. The interaction is a constant trade of key mobility and defensive spells, with neither hero having an easy way to secure a kill on the other.

This dynamic defines the entire game. Windranger wants to find an isolated hero and burst them with Focus Fire, but Pangolier is rarely caught out and can escape her kill attempts. In teamfights, his role is to cause chaos, bouncing around with his ultimate and disrupting the enemy team's positioning. This directly counters Windranger's need for a stable, locked-down target. However, Pangolier is quite fragile. If Windranger or her allies do manage to chain stuns on him, he can be deleted before he has a chance to start rolling, making careful positioning and timing critical for both sides.
