Phantom Assassin vs Vengeful Spirit

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down a support is Phantom Assassin's entire game plan, but Vengeful Spirit's kit is designed to shut that down. Nether Swap can instantly reposition a target PA jumps on, completely wasting her initiation. Venge can also use it to pull an overextended Phantom Assassin right into the middle of her own team. On top of that, Magic Missile is a simple, reliable stun that locks PA down long enough for a team to react and kill her before she can get her damage off. Wave of Terror also strips away PA's armor, making her surprisingly easy to bring down with physical attacks.

This dynamic forces the Phantom Assassin player into a difficult position. She can’t simply jump the most appealing target; she has to constantly track Vengeful Spirit and her Swap cooldown. Often, PA has to wait for Venge to use her spell on someone else or try to bait it out, which makes her own timing much less effective. The Vengeful Spirit player, meanwhile, can play reactively, holding onto her abilities to protect whichever core PA decides to target. This turns PA from a terrifying assassin into a predictable initiator who can be easily punished.
