Phoenix vs Tinker

How this matchup plays

Picking a hero like Tinker often means accepting you'll have a hard time against enemies that can find and lock you down. Phoenix is a prime example of this problem. Icarus Dive allows Phoenix to close the gap from an unexpected angle, reaching Tinker even when he's hiding deep in the trees. Once on top of him, Fire Spirits cripple Tinker's ability to fight back by slowing his attack speed. This makes it nearly impossible for Tinker to destroy the Supernova egg on his own, leaving him to either flee or get caught in the fight-ending stun.

Across the game, this dynamic forces the Tinker player into a state of constant caution. Phoenix will actively hunt for him, knowing that a successful Supernova on Tinker can decide a teamfight before it even begins. Tinker's usual strategy of split-pushing and controlling the map from a safe distance falls apart when Phoenix can initiate from so far away. The burden shifts to Tinker's team to provide saves and deep vision, while the Tinker himself must play much more reactively, which severely limits his impact on the game.
