How this matchup plays

Trying to assassinate a key target often puts Void Spirit in an awkward spot against Phoenix. His spell-based burst is strong, but he lacks the sustained attack damage to handle Supernova on his own. He is forced to use his mobility to disengage, leaving the egg for his team to deal with. Furthermore, Sun Ray can be difficult for him to fight into, as it forces him to either commit his resources to escape or risk taking significant damage while trying to close the gap. Phoenix controls space in a way that directly counters Void Spirit's preferred in-and-out playstyle.

This dynamic means Void Spirit has to be selective with his aggression. A poorly timed initiation can leave him stranded and unable to finish a kill if Phoenix is nearby to turn the fight.
