Head-to-head Dota 2 7.41f win rate from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Phoenix wins the Phoenix vs Winter Wyvern matchup: Phoenix beats Winter Wyvern in 54.26% of 15,828 ranked matches.
Trying to use Winter's Curse against a Phoenix often backfires completely. If Phoenix casts Supernova during your ultimate, your own teammates are forced to attack the cursed ally instead of the egg. This wastes crucial damage and all but guarantees the Supernova stun goes off, turning the entire fight around. The problem for Winter Wyvern extends beyond that single interaction. Her Cold Embrace provides immunity to physical damage, which does nothing to save an ally from the magic and pure damage coming from Fire Spirits and Sun Ray. Phoenix's kit is simply the wrong kind of damage for Winter Wyvern to deal with at any stage of the game.
