Phoenix vs Zeus

How this matchup plays

Trying to farm or rotate as a low-health hero feels risky, because Zeus's global pressure can force you to play defensively. His burst damage, especially Thundergod's Wrath, can often make Phoenix use Supernova earlier than intended or in a poor position. Once the egg is down, however, Zeus has a problem. He offers next to no physical damage himself and has to rely entirely on his allies to have the right-clicks needed to destroy the Supernova. This creates a trade-off where Zeus can initiate the problem for Phoenix, but is helpless to solve it alone.

The matchup often comes down to which team can better enable their hero’s big spell. If Zeus’s team has the mobile heroes and physical damage to follow up on his burst and quickly kill the egg, they can shut Phoenix down. But if Phoenix's team can protect him and position well for the fight that happens around his Supernova, they can easily turn the tables. The game isn't decided by who wins the lane, but by which team better drafts and executes around these huge teamfight ultimates when they eventually clash.
