Primal Beast vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst Spectre down often backfires, and that's the core of this matchup. Primal Beast brings a ton of single-target lockdown and damage with Pulverize, which seems perfect for killing a carry. But Spectre's Dispersion reflects a portion of that damage right back, punishing Beast for doing his job. While Primal Beast is strong and durable, he can't ignore the constant return damage, especially if Spectre builds for it. On the other hand, Spectre can struggle to escape Beast's initial charge and Trample if she's caught out of position, making her vulnerable before she can get her abilities off.

This creates a real timing battle. Early on, Primal Beast is the aggressor, running around the map creating chaos while Spectre is focused on farming. If Primal Beast's team can get a big enough lead, they can end the game before Spectre is a factor. Later on, the tables turn. Spectre's Haunt allows her to control teamfights, picking her entry point and often avoiding Beast's initiation entirely. A late-game Spectre can be too much for Primal Beast to handle alone, but his lockdown remains the best tool his team has for controlling her, provided they can follow up.
