Primal Beast vs Void Spirit

How this matchup plays

Thinking Void Spirit is an easy meal for Primal Beast is a common mistake. While Pulverize will absolutely lock down and kill Void if it lands, the fight is really about whether it can land at all. A good Void Spirit can use Dissimilate or an Astral Step to dodge the initial Onslaught charge completely, leaving Primal Beast out of position. It becomes a prediction game. If Primal can get the jump and connect his stun, Void dies. If Void anticipates the charge and dodges, he can turn the fight around with his own spells and kiting.

The lane can feel like a stalemate, since Primal Beast has trouble sticking to his target and Void Spirit lacks the damage to bully him out. Later in the game, the dynamic shifts to teamfight positioning. Primal wants to find an angle to charge in, often on a different target, to force Void to show himself. Meanwhile, Void wants to hang back and use Aether Remnant to stop a charge or wait until Primal commits his spells. Neither hero gets to play their ideal game easily, which results in a very even contest that hinges on timing and execution.
