How this matchup plays

Using Astral Step to escape Dream Coil means Void Spirit completely ignores Puck’s ultimate, breaking the leash without getting stunned. This interaction alone cripples Puck's main source of control. It gets worse from there. If Puck does manage to initiate, Void Spirit can use Dissimilate to become untargetable, dodging the burst from Illusory Orb and Waning Rift. Puck's aggressive spells are often spent on a hero who simply disappears, leaving Puck out of position and vulnerable upon Void Spirit's return.

Puck's entire mid-game plan of catching heroes and setting up kills becomes unreliable. Instead of controlling fights, Puck is forced to play reactively. Void Spirit can often absorb Puck’s initial burst with his Resonant Pulse shield and then immediately threaten a kill in return. This forces Puck to use Phase Shift defensively much earlier than desired, limiting their own damage output. Puck is left looking for opportunities on other heroes, but Void Spirit’s high mobility makes it easy for him to find and punish Puck anyway.
