Pudge vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

Pudge’s entire game revolves around creating map pressure with pickoffs, but Spectre is uniquely equipped to shut that down. Trying to burst her with a Hook and Dismember combo often backfires due to Dispersion, which reflects a huge amount of damage back onto Pudge and any nearby allies. This makes him hesitant to use his main lockdown tool on the most important target. Furthermore, Spectre's Haunt allows her to instantly join any fight on the map, turning Pudge's gank attempts on her teammates into disastrous traps. He can never be sure that a two-on-one skirmish will stay that way.

As the game progresses, Pudge is forced to avoid Spectre entirely, which is a massive problem when she's the enemy carry. His only option is to try and pick off her much weaker teammates, but the constant threat of a Haunt counter-initiation makes this extremely risky. This dynamic gives Spectre the space she needs to farm safely and hit her timings. Once she has her core items, Pudge becomes a liability for his own team, unable to threaten Spectre while being an easy target for her to jump on and kill whenever she pleases.
