How this matchup plays

Seeing a spell-heavy hero like Snapfire might make you think Pugna's Nether Ward would be a huge problem. In reality, it's often the other way around. Snapfire has multiple ways to quickly destroy the ward from a distance, either with her physical attacks from Lil' Shredder or with a well-aimed Scatterblast. This neutralizes one of Pugna's main teamfight contributions. More importantly, a simple Firesnap Cookie provides a reliable, instant stun to cancel Life Drain. Since Pugna relies on that channel to survive and deal damage in fights, having such an easy answer available makes his life difficult.

Throughout the game, this dynamic forces Pugna to play cautiously. He has to position his Nether Ward defensively or in spots where Snapfire can't immediately target it, which often reduces its effectiveness. A good Pugna will try to drain a different target, hoping Snapfire isn't in position to help them. Meanwhile, Snapfire's job is simple: stay close enough to her team to land a Cookie on Pugna the moment he starts his channel. This constant threat of interruption gives her a small but consistent advantage in fights where both heroes are present.
