Queen of Pain vs Void Spirit

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down Void Spirit often leaves a Queen of Pain player frustrated. Her typical pattern of Blinking in for a quick kill with Scream of Pain and Sonic Wave runs directly into his defensive toolkit. Void Spirit can use Dissimilate to completely dodge the incoming ultimate, negating her main source of damage and control. His Resonant Pulse also provides a shield that can absorb a significant portion of her initial spell combo, frequently allowing him to survive and turn the fight with his own abilities.

The laning phase can be competitive, as Queen of Pain has strong ranged harass with Shadow Strike. As the game moves into the mid-game, however, the dynamic shifts. Queen of Pain finds it very difficult to secure solo kills on Void Spirit, often needing a teammate's lockdown to guarantee her spells connect. Void Spirit, in contrast, has the tools to initiate on his own. He can use Aether Remnant to catch Queen of Pain even after she Blinks, giving him a slight advantage in controlling the tempo of fights around the map.
