Clockwerk vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Picking Clockwerk into Sniper feels like a direct challenge. On paper, Clockwerk has all the tools to jump and trap an immobile backliner. A good Hookshot into Power Cogs and Battery Assault is usually a death sentence for Sniper, who has no innate way to escape the trap. This relies entirely on landing that initial spell, though. Sniper's extreme attack range lets him position so far back that finding a clean hook is difficult. A simple Force Staff, a common item for Sniper, can also completely negate the Power Cogs, letting him escape even after being caught.

The entire matchup revolves around vision and execution. Clockwerk wants to play from the shadows, using smokes and terrain to find an angle, while Sniper wants to stay behind his team and use Shrapnel to scout possible entry points. A fight is often decided by the success of that first Hookshot. If it connects, Sniper is almost certainly removed from the equation. If Clockwerk misses, he is now deep in the enemy formation without his primary spell, making him an easy target to be kited and killed from a distance.
