Clockwerk vs Storm Spirit

How this matchup plays

Getting caught by a Hookshot is a huge problem for mobile heroes, but Storm Spirit has the tools to make it a test of skill. Clockwerk's whole plan is to trap him in Power Cogs and burn away his mana pool, leaving him helpless. A fast-reacting Storm, however, can use Ball Lightning to dodge the hook entirely. Even if caught, he might be able to zip away before the full lockdown lands. It really comes down to who gets the jump; Clockwerk needs vision and a clean shot, while Storm Spirit can often turn the tables if he initiates first.

This matchup is a duel that evolves as the game goes on. In the mid-game, Clockwerk is trying to land that one perfect initiation before Storm can farm a key defensive item like a Linken's Sphere or Black King Bar. Once Storm has one of those, Clockwerk's job gets much harder, and he may have to switch focus to other targets. In teamfights, Storm Spirit waits for Clockwerk to commit his spells elsewhere, creating an opening for him to go on the back line, while Clock is constantly scanning for a mistake he can punish.
