How this matchup plays

Getting caught by a Hookshot is especially dangerous for Tusk. Once inside Power Cogs, he has few ways out. His primary escape, Snowball, is easily broken by the cogs if he tries to cast it, and simply walking out isn't an option. While he's trapped, Clockwerk’s Battery Assault makes it difficult for Tusk to fight back effectively, constantly interrupting his attacks. This core interaction gives Clockwerk a reliable way to isolate and control a hero who otherwise wants to be a mobile brawler, setting him up for an easy kill.

Throughout the game, Clockwerk will be looking for these pickoffs, forcing Tusk to play carefully. Tusk’s success depends on anticipating the Hookshot and using Snowball to dodge it or to save a teammate who gets initiated on. Good vision control and positioning are his best defenses. Ice Shards can also be used to create space and block Clockwerk’s allies from following up. The matchup often comes down to who gets the jump first, but Clockwerk's ability to completely immobilize Tusk gives him a consistent, if small, advantage.
