Clockwerk vs Void Spirit

How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down a target with Power Cogs is frustrating when that target is Void Spirit. Even if Clockwerk lands a perfect Hookshot, Void Spirit has multiple answers. He can often use Dissimilate to go invulnerable, dodging much of the incoming damage and the stuns from Battery Assault while waiting for his team. Alternatively, an Astral Step charge can let him teleport right out of the cogs, completely negating Clockwerk's primary lockdown combo. This forces Clockwerk to have immediate follow-up from his team, as he can rarely secure a solo kill on Void Spirit.

Across the game, this dynamic puts the pressure on Clockwerk to pick his moment perfectly. He has to wait for Void Spirit to burn his escape spells aggressively before even thinking about using Hookshot. Clockwerk can use Rocket Flare to maintain vision and try to catch Void Spirit out of position, but the matchup still favors the more mobile hero. It usually comes down to whether Void Spirit has his spells off cooldown when the fight starts, which gives him a consistent, if not overwhelming, edge in their head-to-head encounters.
