Clockwerk vs Windranger

How this matchup plays

Trapping Windranger inside Power Cogs seems like a guaranteed kill, but the reality is more complicated. The core of Clockwerk's advantage is that Windrun does not allow her to phase through the cogs, leaving her stuck taking Battery Assault damage. This isolates her and removes her main defensive tool, creating a perfect setup for follow-up damage from Clockwerk or his allies. It's a direct counter to her slipperiness, but one that requires a specific setup to work.

Everything hinges on Clockwerk landing that initial Hookshot, though. A smart Windranger can counter this by playing far back, using tree cover for vision games, and rushing an item like Force Staff to escape the cogs anyway. If Clockwerk ever misses or jumps into a bad position, he's a sitting duck for a Shackleshot and Focus Fire. The matchup becomes a test of initiation and positioning. Clockwerk has the stronger tool for a direct fight, but Windranger has plenty of ways to avoid that fight or punish a failed attempt.
