How this matchup plays

Trying to find a good Hookshot from the trees is a frustrating experience against Zeus. His spells can grant vision in an area, meaning Clockwerk is often spotted before he can even think about initiating a gank. This fundamentally disrupts Clockwerk’s game plan, which relies on surprising and isolating a single target. Even when a gank is successful, Zeus can punish it from across the map or simply stand far outside the fight and pour damage onto whoever Clockwerk has trapped in Cogs. His ability to contribute from extreme range makes him a slippery and annoying target.

This dynamic means Clockwerk often has to play reactively. Instead of setting the tempo with pickoffs, he might be forced to wait for Zeus to overextend or use his revealing spells before making a move. A successful initiation on Zeus is usually a kill, as he has no natural escape and is quite fragile. The problem is getting that initiation in the first place. Zeus's kit provides him with just enough information and long-range pressure to consistently make Clockwerk's life difficult, giving him a slight upper hand over the course of a game.
