Razor vs Slark

How this matchup plays

Controlling the tempo of a fight against Razor often comes down to breaking his Static Link. Slark is uniquely equipped for this. His Dark Pact provides a basic dispel, timed correctly it purges the link right off him. This single interaction cripples Razor's ability to dominate a one-on-one fight by draining damage. Slark can either use Pounce to commit to a kill knowing he can break the link, or use it to escape after Razor has used his spell. Razor lacks the instant lockdown needed to prevent Slark from getting his abilities off, making him a difficult target to pin down and drain.

As the game progresses, this dynamic allows Slark to often set the terms of engagement. He can hunt for a solo Razor, who can't reliably win the man-fight. However, the matchup isn't completely one-sided. A farmed Razor can still be a huge problem in teamfights, especially if his team can lock Slark down before Dark Pact can be used. Razor also pushes towers much faster, so if Slark can't find enough pickoffs, Razor's team can take objectives and win the game through map control before Slark's advantage in skirmishes pays off.
