Rubick vs Visage

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map against Visage is difficult because Rubick lacks tools to handle the constant, split pressure from Summon Familiars. The birds' high physical damage shreds a fragile intelligence hero like Rubick, and they continue attacking even if he uses Telekinesis on Visage. The spells Rubick hopes to steal are also not ideal. Grave Chill is a fine single-target spell, but it's not a teamfight winner. Stealing Summon Familiars is an option, but the birds are significantly weaker without Visage’s specific talents and item build to empower them, making it a low-impact theft.

This dynamic forces Rubick to play reactively. Visage tends to group early, pushing down towers and forcing fights around objectives with his team. Rubick is always waiting for a powerful spell to steal from one of Visage's allies, but he is often the primary target of the familiars and gets burst down before he can make a decisive play. His best-case scenario is surviving the initial assault to steal a different hero's ultimate, but he rarely gets to dictate the engagement against the relentless pressure Visage applies.
