Head-to-head Dota 2 7.41f win rate from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Winter Wyvern wins the Shadow Demon vs Winter Wyvern matchup: Winter Wyvern beats Shadow Demon in 54.81% of 7,593 ranked matches.
Trying to kill a target set up by Shadow Demon is incredibly frustrating when a Winter Wyvern is on the other team. Cold Embrace completely undoes the Disruption setup, saving the victim from the follow-up burst that Shadow Demon needs his allies to provide. Even if you manage to isolate a hero with Demonic Purge, Winter's Curse can punish the aggressive positioning required to secure the kill, turning the gank around entirely. Winter Wyvern simply has a direct, powerful answer for almost every play Shadow Demon wants to make. This fundamental clash of their abilities also explains why they often feel awkward to play on the same team.
