Shadow Demon vs Zeus

How this matchup plays

Trying to lock Zeus down with Disruption often backfires completely. The illusions created by Shadow Demon's spell can cast Arc Lightning, punishing your whole team for trying to disable the primary target. Zeus is already built to spam low-cooldown spells from a safe distance; giving him extra bodies that also trigger Static Field turns a defensive save into a huge source of area damage. Shadow Demon is too fragile to withstand the constant magical barrage and lacks the instant damage to threaten Zeus in return.

This dynamic forces Shadow Demon into a terrible choice in every teamfight. He either avoids using his main setup spell on Zeus, or he risks turning the fight against his own team. Using Disruption defensively on an ally is also weak, as Zeus can simply wait out the short duration and finish them off with his burst. Zeus doesn't need to adjust his plan at all. He can easily find and kill the fragile Shadow Demon from long range, often before he can contribute much more than a single Soul Catcher.
