Shadow Shaman vs Silencer

How this matchup plays

Saving a teammate with Global Silence after they've been caught by Shackles feels powerful, but that trade isn't always in Silencer's favor. The ultimate has a very long cooldown, and a patient Shadow Shaman can simply wait for it to be used before committing his own lockdown. Silencer also has to worry about getting initiated on himself; a surprise Hex is often a death sentence, leaving him unable to use any spells to respond. The whole exchange often boils down to a duel of cooldowns and which support lands the first disabling spell.

This creates a high-stakes guessing game in teamfights. The Silencer player has to hold their ultimate for the perfect moment to break a key Shackle. Using it too early lets Shadow Shaman re-engage after, while waiting too long means the target is already dead. The Shadow Shaman, in turn, is constantly tracking Global Silence, looking for an opening to act freely. Once Black King Bars appear, Shadow Shaman can often ignore the threat entirely, letting him lock down targets while Silencer has one less tool to stop him.
